Lakeland College reports second COVID-19 case, risk remains low

A second COVID-19 case has been confirmed at Lakeland College’s Lloydminster campus.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority informed the school that the risk of transmission is still low.

The last time the student was at the school was on October 15th and they’re currently self-isolating at home.

SHA is conducting contract tracing and will contact anyone who has been in close contact with the student.

“If you don’t hear from Public Health, you likely haven’t been exposed because of the measures that are in place at Lakeland,” said the post-secondary’s release on Wednesday.

There are no changes to programs and service delivery. The campuses remain closed to the public, including the family of students and staff.

Lakeland said this case reinforces the importance of everyone following the guidelines. The school’s protocols can be viewed on their website.
