Some E.S. Laird students will learn online next week after COVID case

Some E.S. Laird students will be learning online for the start of next week after there was a positive COVID case reported at the school on Thursday night.

Lloydminster Public School Division said on Friday that students in classrooms 8C and 9E will be moving to online learning from next Tuesday until Thursday to minimize further risk of transmission within the school.

Classes were cancelled on Friday and the facility closed to the public.

Based on the advice of the Local Medical Health Officer, LPSD said students of 8C and 9E will return to school on Friday, October 30th.

“Our school administration is working diligently to communicate information as we receive it, with our parents and caregivers, and will continue to work to ensure minimal disruption to student learning.” – Todd Robinson, Director of Education

Communication has been shared with the specific classrooms, as well as the school community, LPSD said.
