Lakeland College students receive 4-H scholarship

Two Lakeland College students are receiving 4-H Canada scholarships to use during the upcoming school year.

On Monday, Kira Axley and Emma-Jean Warner were announced as among 60 recipients of the 2020 Coca-Cola 4-H Post-Secondary Education Scholarship.

The students were awarded $1,000 scholarships for post-secondary or graduate studies.

“We congratulate the 60 recipients for 2020 and know that as 4-H members, they are resilient toward adversity and will continue to effect positive change amid the challenges of our ever-changing world,” said Shannon Benner, Chief Executive Officer of 4-H Canada.

The applicants were selected based on academic achievement, 4-H and community involvement, and a 500-word essay on either the importance of post-secondary education or how young people can contribute in community and civic initiatives.

More information on the Coca-Cola 4-H Post-Secondary Education Scholarship can be found on 4-H Canada’s website.
