Lloydminster RCMP speaks on policing trends

Lloydminster RCMP Inspector Lee Brachmann provided an update on some of the police activity in the city over July.

Brachmann’s monthly “RCMP Corner” can be found on the City of Lloydminster’s website.

Brachmann claims the RCMP has not seen an increase or decrease in property crimes relative to this time last year.

He added crimes such as break and enters, possession of stolen property, and vandalism are trending higher than the same period in 2019.

In his update, Brachmann noted decreases in vehicle thefts, theft over $5,000 and theft under $5,000.

Brachmann mentioned a 30 per cent reduction in motor vehicle crashes, but an increase in criminal driving offences including impaired driving, driving while prohibited and dangerous driving.
