City of Lloydminster seeking feedback for 2021 budget

The City of Lloydminster is asking residents for their input on how they feel about municipal spending.

As The City prepares the 2021 municipal budget, residents can give feedback to city council through a survey on how they would like the 2021 budget to be prioritized.

In a statement, Mayor Gerald Aalbers spoke of the importance of gathering feedback from people in the community.

“The input and feedback we receive from the community will help Council and Administration focus on streamlining programs and services and ensure each tax dollar is spent on what Lloydminster wants and needs,” said Aalbers.

“It’s also important we establish a budget the incoming mayor and council can work with to continue building a sustainable future.”

The survey opens on August 10 and will provide people with the opportunity to anonymously create a budget and compare it to other drafted budgets.

It will also give residents the chance to add their property assessment value to see how their 2020-21 tax rates could change with increased or decreased service levels.

The survey will be available on the City of Lloydminster’s website until September 4.
